PostHeaderIcon Laptop Battery Reviews Power Of Battery

Powered by Batteries

Batteries power a wide variety of the items we use everyday for work and play. We use them to power our cameras, cell phones, laptops, MP3 players, and more.
Types of Batteries

When shopping for batteries, you will find that you have many options. There are several types of batteries, each with advantages and disadvantages. Learning about the various options can help you decide the best type of Acer as07b41 battery to buy for your power needs.

Batteries come in two basic types, either disposable or rechargeable. Within each of these basic types, there are a variety of battery options as well.

* Disposable Batteries, also known as single-use or primary batteries, have one power cycle and must be replaced when drained. Options include alkaline, zinc-silver, lithium, carbon-zinc, and zinc air.
* Rechargeable Batteries, also known as secondary batteries, can be recharged and reused. Options include NiCa/NiCd Nickel Cadmium, NiMH Nickel Metal Hydride, Li-Ion Lithium Ion, and SLA Sealed Lead Acid.

What battery should I get?

We recommend rechargeable batteries. Rechargeable batteries are great for electronics and save you money from buying disposable batteries. They also have a relatively long power life. For example, they can usually power a new digital camera for a couple days before having to recharge them.

If you decide to buy rechargeable batteries, you are going to have to find out what type of rechargeable battery you want. This often depends on what you are going to use it for and how much you want to consider spending.

If you want good reliable Acer batbl50l6 battery Acer aspire 5520 battery that you can use for anything without having to worry as much about getting new rechargeable batteries, than NiMH batteries are what you want. They can supply the need for most electronics, are able to keep their full charge pretty high. And, if you get the Low Self-Discharge NiMH batteries, they will stay at a high charge for a long time even when not in use.

If performance and not money is not the primary issue, than get the Lithium Ion. They are the best on the market right now, but they need to be replaced every few years. They have slow discharge, allowing them to keep a near full charge when not in use. They are also able to last longer in power draining electronics like Cameras with Flash than NiMH or NiCa.
What battery charger should I get?

Battery Charger

If you buy rechargeable batteries, you will also need a battery charger.

There are a couple things you should look for when choosing a battery charger.

* Make sure its a smart charger. This means it wont overcharge and will stop charging when its fully charged.
* Make sure it takes a couple of hours for a full charge. The 15 minute chargers overheat the batteries and slowly lower the full charge capacity of batteries. Basically, the slower it takes to charge the battery the better it is for the battery.
* Make sure it supports the capacity of your Acer aspire 5920 battery Acer aspire 6935g battery . For example, some chargers cant charge 2700mAh.

If you want a really good charger that takes the most care of your batteries full charge, then get one that discharges the battery. This means it takes all the charge out, then it charges the battery. This solves the memory loss problem that can occur in batteries.

PostHeaderIcon Choosing Between A Smartphone or a Laptop

Carrying around numerous devices is not only expensive but bulky. Phones have become so sophisticated these days that they are not only called smartphones but they are really mini computers. So what are some considerations you might take when weighing out whether to purchase a smartphone or laptop? Consider the following:

1.  Make a list of all the ways you use a laptop to determine whether your smartphone could replace it. Are you using your laptop to type a lot? That is, typing, as in large documents, not just emails or comments on Facebook. Of course they make keyboards for smartphones, so even the idea of typing large documents doesn’t have to be a smartphone deterrent. The downside is the size of the screen. If you are typing a lot and re-reading your materials, you may face eyestrain with a smartphone.

2. How much storage do you need? Some people store moderate amounts of information and others download everything under the sun.

Photos and video can take up a lot of storage, which in such cases you would want a laptop. Laptops also have numerous ports if you are looking to plug in cameras or camcorders to download pictures and video.

3. Internet connection is another consideration. Many smartphones have Internet connection, while in having a laptop you have to pay for an Internet plan. While you have to pay for data on your cell phone plan too, you may find that it would be something you already want, so why not get full use out of it.

4. Where will you use your device? Laptops and smartphones are both portable, but obviously a smartphone is the most portable and convenient. If you find yourself doing most of your work at a desk with only minimal amounts of time away from it, then the laptop makes more sense.

5. What type of software are you using? If you are a business professional who needs to put together large documents, spreadsheets, multimedia presentations, etc – then of course it makes sense to have a larger screen and thus a laptop.

6. Are you mostly browsing the Internet? If you are somebody who spends most of their time online, whether it is reading the news, contacting others, playing on Facebook or checking the stock market, then the smartphone may be the way to go. While a laptop screen makes it easier to see, a smartphone may be cheaper and much more convenient. With today’s sophistication in software such as Android, you can surf the Internet with the same results as with a laptop.

7. Watching Movies? If you are somebody who watches a lot of video, whether it be movies, Netflix, YouTube or whatnot, then going with a laptop would be the better decision. Obviously a laptop is easier to view and can play DVDS, Blu-ray  and such. You will also have better speakers and nicer resolution. Many smartphones aren’t made for video either, only small clips.

8. Playing Games? Portable gaming kills a lot of time when a person is waiting around – whether in public or at home. The convenience of pulling out your smartphone to waste some time playing games is certainly much easier than pulling out a laptop. The types of online games you play will determine which device to have though. Games that require heavy graphics and visuals, should of course should be played on a laptop. Even with this said, choose a laptop that is made for gaming.  Among the smartphones, the iPhone has been leading the pack in game varieties with Android phones second and Blackberry way in the back.

The decision on which device to choose may be difficult. If you can afford it, owning both gives you the best of both worlds. But if you can’t, weigh out your needs with the above criteria before committing.

Obtaining a Replacement Latitude D620 Battery Life

Where to buy a new replacement dell laptop battery When your expensive original laptop battery wear out? keep an extra dell d820 battery pack handy and enjoy the true portability of your PC.100% original manufacturer compatible.

Determining Battery Health

There are several methods of determining your battery’s capacity relative to it’s initial specification (aka “health”).

* Press and hold the status button located on the bottom of your laptop battery. The five LED lights will initially display your battery’s current charge (five lights is charged, zero lights is discharged), and if you continue pressing the status button for three seconds the lights will blink off and back on again, now displaying the health of your battery.

If zero lights appear your battery is operating at greater than 80% of its specified capacity, if five lights appear your battery is operating at less than 60% of its specified capacity. This information was pulled from the D620 User Guide.
* If you enter the system BIOS by pressing “F2″ during the Dell logo while booting, there is a “Battery Health” option under the “Sytem” menu which gives a qualitative assessment of battery health.
* The power manager under FC6 tracks the maximum capacity of your dell d620 battery at its last full charge and generates a health percentage based on the factory spec charge for your battery. To view this information, right-click the battery meter in your gnome panel, select “Information”, and expand the “More” area of the “Device Information” panel.
* If you kept your initial Windows XP install, there is a battery health meter under the Dell Quickset applet in the lower right hand corner of the screen that gives the same information that is available through the system BIOS.

Obtaining a Replacement Battery

Of course, you always have the option of purchasing a replacement dell laptop battery from Dell (9-cell or 6-cell), or simply living with degraded battery life.

There are some circumstances where you may be able to obtain a replacement under warranty, though. If the BIOS/Quickset health gauges are showing the battery as failed even though it’s less than a year old, Dell will replace it under warranty. According to the phone rep that I spoke to, a battery is considered to have failed when operating at less than 50% of its rated capacity. When I called, my battery was five months old and operating at 50%-60% of it’s capacity (5 death lights, BIOS noted lowered dell d830 battery life but did not pronounce failure, FC6 power manager rated health at 56%, observed battery life was 50%-60% of expected). I was able to successfully make the case that the battery was clearly borderline and would certainly be replaced within a month or two, and that doing so now was an opportunity to provide excellent customer service whereas forcing me to wait would serve no purpose other than irritating me. To his credit, the phone rep immediately acknowledged that my line of thinking was reasonable, spoke to a supervisor, and was able to authorize the early replacement.

Reviews about dell battery

Physically, this item is nearly identical to the Dell branded battery. There are no quality issues at all. It does have the dell latitude d820 battery meter on the bottom, just like the original one. Since my Dell unit crapped out after 18mo, I can’t do any side by side comparisons, but I think the original unit had a bit more capacity. I recall getting 4 hours on my D620 running Fedora Linux (thought that was for maybe the first couple months). This unit is maybe 3-3.5 but again, I haven’t really done any scientific tests. It could be that I’m just harder on the battery now than I was then. Either way, it’s a steal at roughly 1/3 the cost of the Dell unit.

It’s been almost a year of regular use and I still have more than 3 hours of dell latitude d620 battery life! Had 4-5 hours when it arrived and that lasted for several months. Only downside, for some reason, after 25% use it thinks it’s out of juice and it turns my computer off. But, my computer turns right back on without problem. Also, it doesn’t exactly fit flush, but it’s still better than the battery dell sent me with this laptop. GREAT PRODUCT!

Dell PA-10 AC Adapter,Dell 19.5V 4.62A AC Adapter With 1 Year Warranty.Stop lugging your Dell AC adapter back and forth between home and office.Get a second AC adapter for your notebook and keep one in the office and one for home or travel. The 90W Dell Latitude d620 Adapter enables you to operate your notebook or charge the battery from electrical power outlets. Review”I use my laptop on the road all the time. This power supply is a wonderful add on! It works as it is supposed to do and it is solid as a rock. Great Product. After my Dell Latitude D820 adapter broke on my latitude d620, I first bought a universal adapter from a major electronics retailer. Although, the universal adapter would power my notebook, it would not recharge the battery. After doing some research on the internet, I found that many aftermarket adapters will not charge the Dell’s notebook battery. The good news is that this adapter effectively powers the notebook and recharges the battery. It’s a lot cheaper then Dell’s OEM adapter and it has worked fine for me. “

PostHeaderIcon A Few Tips About Buying Cheap Laptops

A laptop with a reduced price may have a small amount of RAM which could affect the way your programs run. Another feature often played up in the cheapest laptop deals is the computer’s ability to play Blu-ray discs and DVDs. What they won’t mention is the internal device used to display the graphics. Most laptops today will have a chipset rendering program to create images with. This is not a graphics card, and often will not work with video games requiring the use of a graphics card.

Something else you might look for is whether or not a webcam is included in the design of the laptop. This is a device many people take for granted is included, but in reality is often missing from the less expensive units. You can purchase an external camera that plugs into the USB port if you need one. You can actually purchase a number of external components to supplement items your laptop does not come with, but this will be an added expense over the cost of the computer.

The newest addition to the laptop family is the new miniature design of the compact computers with 10 inch screens.

They carry a very reasonable price tag, but are lacking any kind of drive bay for installing or running external CDs or DVDs. It is possible to get a great deal on a laptop with the features you want, by knowing ahead of time what to look for, and what you are willing to do without or supplement with an external device.
